Charles Edward Mordecai, age 76, of Hartshorne, died Saturday, September 22, 2018 at his home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2018 at First Assembly of God Church in Haileyville with Rev. Billy Bowles officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne.
Charles was born on March 6, 1942 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma to William and Iva (McCarroll) Mordecai. He owned and operated Charles’s Service Station for many years. He enjoyed his work, his church and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his son of the heart and spouse, Forrest and Kristi Kirkes of Hartshorne; grandchildren and spouses, Craig and Ashton Kirkes of Hartshorne, Tyler and Holli Kitchell of Hartshorne; great-grandchildren, Jake and Heidi Kitchell, Kaedynce and Abner Kirkes; brothers and a sister-in-law, Joe and Jerrie Mordecai of Bache, OK and William Mordecai of Hartshorne; special caregivers, Susan Jackson and Ramona Suter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vernon Mordecai, Gene Mordecai and James Mordecai; two sisters, Leona Glenn and Thelma Hooper.
Active pallbearers will be Craig Kirkes, Lee Kirkes, Eugene Mordecai, Gary Mordecai, Jim Ranallo and Loy Factor. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Watson and Eugene Escoe.
