Kiamichi Technology Center-McAlester recently issued the following announcement.
Cheryl Reamy, manager of the Spiro State Bank Talihina Branch, presented Floyd Whitney a check for being chosen as the Kiamichi Technology Centers Talihina Campus student of the month for January. Floyd, a student from Talihina High School, is enrolled in the Health Careers program at KTC.
“It is a pleasure to have students like Floyd in my classroom, as he always is willing to help his classmates and is courteous and respectful to whomever he encounters,” said Tasia Brand, Health Careers instructor at KTC Talihina. “Floyd has completed and received his Long-Term Care Aide certification and he has a great work ethic.”
The student of the month program is sponsored by The Community State Bank for the fall semester and Spiro State Bank for the spring semester.
“We would like to express our appreciation to these great business in Talihina for sponsoring our KTC students,” said Amanda Dedmon, student services specialist at the Talihina campus.”
Kiamichi Technology Centers has played an integral role in southeastern Oklahoma communities since 1968, serving ten full and three partial counties. KTC is one of 29 districts in the Oklahoma CareerTech system with more than 30 career programs. KTC also offers a wide variety of evening and weekend short-term courses as well as certifications in many diverse career fields. KTC serves nearly 23,000 individuals each year, including many area companies who receive training through the Business and Industry Services division that works with over 400 businesses annually.
