Stephen McCann “Mac” Bartheld, 31, of McAlester passed away Friday, Aug. 16, at Baptist Health Center in Ft. Smith, Ark. surrounded by his family. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Will Rogers Elementary School of McAlester. The family will host a visitation at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Tuesday, Aug. 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Terren Anderson officiating. There will be no committal service.
Mac Bartheld was born on Aug. 18, 1987 in McAlester, the son of Thomas McCann Bartheld and Jerri Lynn (Claxton) Bartheld. He grew up here and graduated from McAlester High School. Mac had worked as a forklift operator at the Army Ammunition Plant then worked at Tucker Oilfield Services. He was currently working at Buck Wilson Frame and Body Shop.
Mac is survived by his children, Kaine, Daxton, Diem and Declan Bartheld; mother of his children, Ashley Trammell-Bartheld; his mother, Jerri Bartheld and Michael Camp; his sister, Jacqueline Lee Bartheld and fiancé Matt Shumway; his grandmother, Jackie Claxton; aunts, Jill Hutchison and Elizabeth Bartheld; uncles, Bill and Joe Bartheld; a cousin, Heather Eddy and Jared; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews; and godparents, Susan McConnell, Paul Million and Bruce Walker. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Bartheld; grandparents, Bob and Pat Bartheld and David Claxton; and special friends, Kelan Kelley and Justin Turvey.
